Rufus Giwa Polytechnic is a state-owned Polytechnic in Owo, Ondo State, Nigeria. It was established by the Ondo State Government in 1979 and renamed after Chief Rufus Folusho Giwa, a prominent businessman, in 2003.

SNPROGRAMMESSESSIONENTRY REQUIREMENTS
1NATIONAL DIPLOMAAdmission into all full-time (National Diploma) programmes is through the UTME, being handled by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Candidates are to check the JAMB Brochure for the general entry requirements with respect to Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo. In addition, candidates must obtain five credits in WASC/ GCE 0’Level/SSCE /NECO /NABTEB at not more than two sittings.
2FACULTY OF AGRICULTURAL TECHNOLOGY (FAT)
Department of Forestry Technology
Candidates must possess five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, and any two of the following: Geography, Economics, Statistics and Physics.
3FACULTY OF APPLIED SCIENCES (FAS)
i Department of Leisure and Tourism Management
Candidates must possess five credit passes in English Language and any four of the following: Mathematics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Economics, Government, Food and Nutrition, and French.
ii Department of Home and Rural EconomicsCandidates must possess five credit passes in Home Economics/Food and Nutrition/Agricultural Science. One Science subject and one other subject from Geography, Economics/Commerce, Religious Knowledge and Nigerian Language.
4FACUL TY OF BUSINESS STUDIES
i Department of Taxation
Candidates must possess five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any other three relevant subjects from the following: Economics, Account, Commerce, Geography and Government.
ii Department of Microfinance and Enterprise DevelomentCandidates must possess five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any three subjects in Civic Education, Computer Science, Insurance, Economics, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Agriculture/Biology and Commerce.
iii Department of InsuranceCandidates must possess five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and Economics, with two other subjects excluding Yoruba and Religious Studies.
HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMACandidates for the Higher National Diploma Programmes must possess an ND Certificate from Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo or from any other Polytechnic recognised by the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo obtained at the Distinction or Credit Level plus one year post-ND Qualification Working Experience. Candidates must also possess five 0’Level Credit Passes in relevant subjects. Candidates with a grade of pass at the ND level will require two years of Industrial Attachment.
(FULLTIME)
A FACULTY OF AG RIC UL TURAL TECHNOLOGY (FAT)
I Department of Animal Production
Candidates must possess:
(a) National Diploma in either Agricultural Technology or Animal Health and Production Technology
(b) Five credit passes in any of the following: English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Geography, Physics, Economics/Commerce, Food and Nutrition. Candidates must also have a minimum of 2 Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and Chemistry.
(c) A minimum of lower credit pass (CGPA 2.50 and above) in the cognate ND examination in Agricultural Technology or Animal Health and Production.
(d) A minimum of one-year cognate experience or in exceptional cases, ND diplomats with a Pass (CGPA of2.00-2.49) in the ND examination that have two or more years of cognate work experience in the specific field may be considered for admission into the HND programme.
ii Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture Technology
Candidate must possess:
(a) five credit passes in Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and Mathematics and any two of the following: Geography, Economics, Physics and Statistics. At least a pass in English Language is mandatory for all applicants.
(b) At least a LOWER CREDIT Pass in National Diploma 2 (ND) in Fisheries and Aquaculture Technology
(c) Candidates in addition are required to have undergone at least one year of relevant Industrial Experience.
(d) Candidates with a grade of ND PASS who have observed a two-year Industrial Training are also eligible to apply.
B FACULTY OF SOCIAL AND COMMUNICATION STUDIES (FSSCS)
iii Department of Social Development
Candidates must posses at least a lower credit pass at the National Diploma in the course plus five credit passes at 2 WAEC/ SSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB obtained at not more than two sittings in relevant subjects, In addition, candidates are required to have undergone at least one year relevant
